Summer Mountain Leader Training Preparation Programme
We will meeting in a cafe near the hill location for the day where we can chat about what everyone would like to get out of the day over a coffee! We will also use this time to check kit and cover any questions that come up from it and set up some navigation theory. After that it will be to head out into the hills for the day looking at what people would like to cover, often the focus is navigation but with a full day on the hill lots can be covered. At the end of the day there will be a chance answer any final questions and if people would like an individual chat about their Summer Mountain Leader journey.
Ropework tends to not be covered on this 1 day course as there is no expectation that candidates need any prior experience of rope work on a Summer Mountain Leader Training.

Summer ML Training Preparation - Pre Course Requirements
This course is all about asking questions, seeing if the Summer Mountain Leader is for you and you are for the training. As long as you have some experience of hill walking, know the basics of a map and compass and own some waterproofs and walking boots you will be fine. We will be spending the day in the hills (covering around 10+km and around 800m of ascent) so you should be fit enough for that.
Kit List and Equipment
You will need to provide your own hill walking clothing and equipment, any specific group kit and technical equipment we will provide. Once you have booked on the course you will be able to access a detailed kit list from the client resource page on this website.
